The team leader is Piotr Tarnacki, who in 2019 defended the ninth World Championship title in the Micro class. The year 2020 may be the most important for Tarnacki and his team in his career. The crew sets a very ambitious goal - winning the tenth World Championship title. If this is achieved, it will be an unprecedented event. In addition, this year Piotr Tarnacki will start in the world league on the Melges 20 yacht. In August, together with 77 Racing Club, he will organize the next edition of Gdańsk Sailing Week.
The Club rents the area near the Wisłoujście Fortress from the city of Gdańsk. It leads here among others a sailing academy for regatta enthusiasts and a training program for companies combining sailing and business. Currently, the whole area is being revitalized. The wooden quay has been repaired and the historic Pleban House will be renovated. The 450-meter hall will be modernized. A new hall with social facilities, bathroom, showers and kitchen will be created. Historic buildings will be combined with modern ones. The whole area will be fenced. Ultimately, 35 permanent parking spaces for the so-called residents and approx. 20 guest spaces are to be built in the internal moat of the Wisłoujście Fortress. All should be ready within two years.
A unique monument on a European scale and an example of a well-preserved maritime fortress.
